Deluxe and Vans preview a pair of Eras from their 10th Anniversary Collection. Featuring a streamlined silhouette, the simple monotone upper is made of a hairy suede that is contrasted by white laces. A light brown leather patch accents the heel portion of the ankle closure. Priced at ¥13,650 JPY (approximately $132 USD), the shoes will come in black and navy editions and are now available for pre-order over at ZOZOTOWN.
Having previewed a collection OG Era LXs adorned with a retro-styled palm leaf motif earlier, Vans Vault is back with the OG Style 36 LX Two Tone range. A tribute to the brand’s iconic 1978 low-top model that may be better known as the Old Skool, this collection reworks the “jazz striped” fan-favorite with a duo of two-tone offerings in classic blue/dandelion and orange rust/coconut shell. Today Vans Vault announces the forthcoming release of yet another summer-themed collection with the OG Era LX Palm Leaf. A tribute to its longstanding heritage, the OG Era LX follows the same design specs as it first appeared in 1976 for three styles featuring the archived “Palm Leaf” print. Sitting atop the brand’s iconic vulcanized sole, vibrant color combinations — navy/green, peach/antique white and pool blue/black — counteract the edgy skate steez of the ‘80s. Each pair will be available this June at select Vans Vault dealers with a price tag of $65 USD.

New from Vans Vault released just in time for this years Earth Day festivities is the OG Sk8-Hi LX Palm Leaf. Pictured here in a red/black colorway, the Palm Leaf features suede elements on the toe box, tongue, heel and side stripe with palm leaf-pattern fabric side panels. The crisp white vulcanized sole features a clean contrasting stripe running around the foxing and should offer plenty of grip and cushioning should you decide to hit the deck.
Following the recent reveal of the upcoming collaboration, Vans and New York’s DQMpresent a Spring/Summer 2013 lookbook highlighting the upcoming “I Love NY” packfeaturing the Authentic and Sk8-Hi. Dubbed “I Love NY: Portraits of True New Yorkers” and shot by photographer Pepsi Kim in the Big Apple, the lookbook sees the kicks – draped in white canvas and covered in an all-over motif of Milton Glaser’s iconic 1977 pop-art logo – on the feet of everyone from tastemaker Vashtie Kola, television and radio personality Michael Colameco, and the multitalented Shadi Perez to DQM founder Chris Keeffe, East Village Radio’s DJ Dirrty, professional skateboarder Ryan Hickey, and more. Look for the “I Love NY” kicks to be available in-store and online beginning April 19.
Building upon last year’s releases, Vans once again takes inspiration from the heritage Central American motif and offers a “Guate Stripe” edition of the Authentic for 2013′s spring/summer season. Sporting a thick canvas upper with multicolored stripes and diamond-shaped patterns throughout, the summertime low-tops come complete with metal eyelets, white rubber foxing, a vulcanized rubber outsole, and a contrasting black foxing stripe. The new “Guate Stripe” edition of the classic Authentic is now available online from Switzerland’s Titolo.
Adopted long ago as the post-modern signature of New York City, Milton Glaser’s iconic 1977 pop-art “I Love NY” logo is set to make its way to two of Vans‘ most beloved footwear silhouettes for a Spring/Summer 2013 collaboration with the Big Apple’s own DQM. The special edition release sees both the Authentic and Sk8-Hi with off-white canvas uppers, white rubber foxing, vulcanized gum rubber outsoles, and the trademarked tourism logo throughout. Finished with printed branding on the insoles, the DQM x Vans 2013 spring/summer “I Love NY” Collection is due to be available in-store and online from The Vans DQM General beginning April 19.
Carhartt WIP and Vans Syndicate continue their collaborative work together with a fresh version of the iconic Era. The Era Tab “S” reflects on the timeless skateboarding classic, a silhouette that has been a cornerstone of the Vans collection since 1976. Keeping true to Tony Alva’s original design, this special edition complements the simple Syndicate design with reflective 3M uppers, zigzag stitch detailing, waffle soles, a canvas heel piece, and embossed Carhartt WIP leather branding on the vamp. The exclusive collaboration will be available in basic black, vibrant blue, orange, and yellow from tomorrow onwards in Carhartt WIP stores around the world and in limited numbers online.
Switching gears from its expansive shoe range and to the apparel side of things, Vans announces the launch of its Island Accessories Collection for the spring season. Loyal patrons can currently purchase either a snapback or a pair of Spicoli 4 Shades in two unique Hawaiian-inspired prints. The first pays tribute to the island’s famed string guitar with a cluster of varying sized ukuleles. The second, the Aloha Camo, embodies the spirit of a tranquil Hawaiian summer with an eccentric mix of beach imagery and text. Supplemented by a collection of tops and shorts featuring the same prints, the Island Accessories Collection is currently available through the Vans online store.
Known for crafting high-fashion sneakers, KIROIC often toys with a variety of materials to achieve minimal yet confident profiles. The latest dispatch from the Shanghai-based cobbler sees a collaborative venture with Vans, as the classic Authentic receives chromatic edits thanks to some traditional embroidery techniques. The prominently leather-centric upper features a unique embroidered toe box, while sitting atop a black rubber sole to allow contrast. Available in a variety of blended hue designs, the KIROIC Vans is conceptual yet wearable, adding a boost of vibrancy to your outfit.
From Porky’s to the Kennedy family, Massachusetts-based Concepts finds inspiration in some rather unexpected places. The cult store looks to a notorious, mostly-forgotten chapter of Boston’s history for its latest project, a partnership with Vans Syndicate on a new iteration of the Sk8-Hi. Paying homage to an area known as the “Combat Zone,” the Concepts x Vans Syndicate Sk8-Hi draws upon the debauchery and rebelliousness of a locale once infamous for violence, crime and prostitution. Made from premium pig suede, the sneakers feature laser-etched leather quarter panels, pink satin linings and crystal-clear waffle treads with checkerboard patterns. Each pair also comes finished with a Combat Zone/Vans Syndicate-specific graphic package complete with dust bags and a satin-lined slider box, resulting in a delightfully decadent take on a classic skateboarding silhouette.
Echoing the feather’s symbolic meaning of honor and strength, Vans and its OTW collection have prepped a Feathers Pack for the 2013 spring/summer season. Offering the Lasdun, Ludlow and Howellalongside a corresponding tee, pair of shorts, and 5-panel cap, the collection is marked by a custom feather embroidery throughout. Additional details found throughout the trio of footwear include pig suede detailing, waxed cotton laces, metal eyelets and laser-etched tongue branding. The entirety of the Vans OTW 2013 spring Feathers Pack is due to be available at select retailers as early as this month.
Kenzo and Vans usher in spring this season with some bold animal-inspired prints in a range of vibrant hues. Dubbed “Clouded Leopard,” the unique print has been applied to the Vans Authentic and the Classic Slip-On with each model available in three colors. With colorways ranging from moody blues to orange and green, and yellow and blue, there’s a color scheme for everyone in the fourth round of this collaboration. Look for the collection at Kenzo boutiques, online, and at select stockists includingOpening Ceremony and Lane Crawford.
