Continuing to reinterpret its storied BAPESTA footwear silhouette with each consecutive season, A Bathing Ape unveils the latest premium iteration with the introduction of the LEATHER BAPESTA collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Arriving in a mixture of chromatic leather uppers, each colorway is set atop a customary white rubber outsole. Contrasting white leather laces cleanly delineate the upper while soft interior lining affords a degree of comfort and wearability to the shoes. Availability is now offered the BAPE online store for a retail of ¥16,590 JPY (approximately $209 USD) each.

Eastland of Maine – Monhegan Leather Boots

Handcrafted, Big Stitch, USA Man-Boot scene, say hello to your handsome Eastlandbrethren here. This takes a little of the moccasin, a little of the Chukka, a little of the desert boot and manages to avoid looking like a mash-up disaster. Chestnut leather, two eyelets, handcrafted, 360 double welt brown leather midsole and a natural crepe rubber sole. These are handcrafted in Maine.

Blackbird explain “These loafers are bench made using genuine true moccasin construction, meaning the leather from the upper fully wraps under the wearer’s foot. This is the traditional method of making handsewns and is a sign of quality” Find them at the store.

Clarks Originals x Oi Polloi Unicorn Leather Wallabee Pack

Clarks and Oi Polloi have continued their work together with creative directors Steve Sanderson and Nigel Lawson creating their own interpretation of the iconic Wallabee. Maintaining the timeless aesthetic of the shoe they applied a special material, a “Unicorn Leather”, the name given to elk hides by the specialized tannery that produces them. The finish is supple and is highlighted by individual marks and defects, the “Unicorn Leather” is also dyed with aniline and tumbled for up to 12 hours to create the unique look.

Produced in Dijon and Wasabi colorways, the Clarks Originals x Oi Polloi Unicorn Leather Wallabee Pack is available now from Oi Polloi.

This interesting pair of “Scale Effect” Leather Trainers is a new take on Lanvin’s popular low top silhouette. Featuring a seemingly worn out aesthetic, the upper construction is characterized by a hand-brushed calf leather material that accentuates with modern laser cut details throughout the upper.
